There are a number of ways to keep your drumming noise down and protect your ears.

Ear Plugs: If your playing in a band or in a loud musical situation you should be wearing ear plugs. To avoid deafness and tinnitus use ear protection. Plugs can be found in all chemists or pharmaceutical shops.

Using Brushes or Hot Rods:   Try Pro Mark “Hot Rods”,  these are drum sticks made from  thin pieces of dowelling bound together. Quieter than normal sticks but they are not silent, so you will be heard ( just at a reduced level). Click link below for more details- price details - where to buy

Pads:  Rubber dampening pads can be put on your drum kit to reduce the noise. Volume is very much reduced but the pads feel very different from your drum skins. (click link below for more details- price details - where to buy)
